Photography Tips
If
I hadn't swapped my all singing, all dancing point-and-shoot
for a sturdy manual camera and then found myself getting
to grips with it whilst back-packing around SE Asia in the
summer of 1987 then I probably wouldn't be quite so hooked
on travel photography now. With such an inspirational backdrop,
the kick start I received then in the basics of photography,
coupled with the satisfaction derived from not only the
resultant images, but the interactions and adventures which
led up to them, fuels what I hope will be a lifelong passion.
For
me, travel and photography go hand in hand, but the memories
of people and places that flood from the photographs themselves
are for me a priceless source of joy and inspiration. That
first trip produced some encouraging results, but also lots
of disappointments. Like anything, experience comes with practice,
learning from one's mistakes, and putting those lessons to
good use the next time round.
I've thrown together a few tips and pointers which I hope
